The 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria is truly a sight to behold. This stunning section of coastline, boasting monoliths protruding from the ocean, is often overcrowded with tourists. I was very fortunate to arrive as the sun was setting and captured some magical shots.

For some reason, when I come to the beach, I can easily get emotional. My mind wanders away to someone who I used to hold hands with and walk along the beach with. The unusual heartbeats, the laugh, the sound of the wave, the sunset and the forehead kisses are all vivid in my mind.
One of the only things I planned to prioritize when I went to Melbourne, Australia was the 12 Apostles. Fun fact, apparently, according to our persuasive tour guide, there are only 9 rock formations in this area; 2 of which were recently not counted to be part of the 9 anymore since the first one collapsed and the other one too small to be recognized as one of the monumental rock formations. Anyway, it was a good & sunny day when we did the GOR tour, hence, I got this marvelous shot.

This place was my number one in my bucket list since I came to Australia. I wanted to be there during sunset. It’s really challenging to photograph this place because it’s the edge of the continent and therefore it’s impossible how windy it gets. At some point I was glad my camera didn’t flew off. In the end I made it. The most magical hour of the day captured at one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life! It makes you wonder how beautiful this planet is. Millions of years displayed right in front of your eyes!

Something special I share with my loved one is the love of beaches and road trips. Melbourne was an amazing place for us to have both! The Great Ocean Road was an amazing drive.

An unplanned trip to the Mornington Peninsula brought us to Gunnamatta Beach. This incredible surf beach is only a 1h30 drive away from Melbourne. I was still in the water when I saw the sun starting to come down and the sky transforming into bright orange and gold colours. I ran back to the car to grab my camera gear and capture the moment. #UnsplashExpedition
